As the Controller, you’ll be a key player in managing all AppCharge’s financials. Reporting
directly to the CFO, you will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance
to ensure the company’s financial integrity as we scale. This is a hands-on role that combines
strategic planning with tactical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, payroll, and general ledger. - Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial statements and reports to senior
leadership and stakeholders. - Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to support strategic
decision-making. - Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including VAT and sales
tax requirements.
- Manage sales tax filings and compliance using Avalara or similar tax automation
software. - Stay updated on VAT and sales tax changes in relevant jurisdictions to ensure the
company remains compliant. - Manage external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors and regulatory
authorities. - Evaluate and optimize accounting systems, tools, and software to support scalability
- Lead or support the implementation and optimization of NetSuite ERP
to streamline financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a Big
four firm. - Hands-on experience managing VAT, sales tax compliance, and tax automation software
(e.g., Avalara). - Experience in a startup or fast-growing company is a plus.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in implementing and optimizing NetSuite ERP is highly
preferred. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
